If you are or have a veteran in your family, plan to enjoy the wonderful live music of the Barleens Rocky Mountain Opry who this year has partnered with Honor Flight of Northern Colorado to host a patriotic fund-raiser on Saturday, July 13th, 2012. Beginning at 7:30pm, the show will feature 1940’s swing music, patriotic songs and popular tunes from the World War II era. Tickets are $25 for adults and $18 for kids 4-16. All proceeds go to support Honor Flight.
Honor Flight of Northern Colorado and local sponsors provide travel and travel companions who escort World War II and Korean War Veterans from Colorado to Washington, DC, to visit the national monuments that recognize and remember US Soldiers. The trip includes visits to the World Word II Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and the Korean War Veterans Memorial – a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and often, a heart-warming and deeply memorable experience for all participants.
Whether you remember the music, have watched the movies, or want to do a little back-in-time travel, the cause is as great as the show promises to be. Get out your platform shoes, don a hat and come on out. Your participation at any level is greatly appreciated. To become an event sponsor, tax-deductable donations for $250 should be made out to the Community Foundation/Honor Flight and mailed to Gary Brown, PO Box 778, Estes park, CO 80517. Sponsorship includes two show-tickets.
